The CPF Foundation is actively involved in international days for older persons and invites partners to work with us to make them a success:
World Health Day (7 April)- Provides an opportunity to promote healthy ageing, preventive care, and access to quality healthcare services for older persons.
Walk beyond Limitations (11 April) - The event is being organised to commemorate limb loss and limb difference awareness month.
International Day of Families (15 May) - Highlights the importance of family support systems, intergenerational solidarity, and community care for older persons.
Swing for Seniors 2nd Edition (5 June) - This initiative aims to provide 10,000 older persons with clean, safe, and private sanitation facilities.
World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (15 June) - Raises awareness on the prevention of abuse, neglect, and exploitation of older persons, while promoting safeguarding and protection measures.
International Day of Older Persons (1 October) - The principal global observance dedicated to celebrating the contributions, rights, and dignity of older persons, and advocating for age-inclusive policies.
World Mental Health Day (10 October) - Focuses on mental wellbeing, addressing issues such as loneliness, depression, and social isolation among older persons.
Regional Conference on Ageing and Older Persons Rights (14 - 16 October) - The Conference aims to amplify the visibility of older persons' rights, strengthen multi-sectoral advocacy and mobilise coordinated action across Kenya and East Africa.
The Foundation is an active member of the Older Persons Technical Working Group and contributes to ongoing policy dialogue through the Monthly Discussion Forums on Ageing, consistently engaging in shaping discussions and influencing frameworks that advance the rights and well-being of older persons.
